Moving Day is Coming!

We are well on our way with the new house. We have all the paperwork done until closing day. Now we just need to save money for all the closing costs and moving costs. Plus find some muscle to get stuff moved on moving day.

Moving day is November 24th. We discontinued our storage unit and put all that stuff in the corner of the garage. The garage is no longer for cars, but for stuff that is packed up. That way we can just back the moving van in and load her up.
Today I did the first official packing. I did a bunch of packing when we put our house on the market to get rid of all the clutter, so I'd say half of what needed to be packed is already done. That's a load off my shoulders. I pack more aggressively staring in November, but if I'm not using it then I might as well pack it. So I went through Erin's clothes and sorted out what was too small, what is out of season, and stuff I don't like. I stuffed it all into garbage bags and ended up with three full ones. I may go through her toys and just leave a few to play with.
Our new house is amazing. We are out in the country on 8 acres. The house is almost 3000 square feet with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is also a loft above the garages that is huge. There is a living room on the main floor as well as one in the walkout basement, both with wood burning fireplaces. Much of the home has been built with materials from historic Rochester buildings which is really unique. Not all of it is very pleasing to the eye, and that stuff will have to be re purposed. For example the pink plastic tile in the bathroom.

I also just put together a resume for a part time job that is being offered where we are moving. The hours are M-F 10am - 3pm. They would be perfect because I would still have plenty of time with Erin.

Lots of changes happening, but I am so excited and ready for them!

While I am very excited for you, Winona will be sad to lose you :( Your new house looks amazing, however, and I can't wait to see what you do with it.
